The Saved Locations feature allows both eLogii dashboard users and Drivers to save specific locations to eLogii. These locations can later be used when creating Tasks and planning.

All the saved locations can be found and edited in Configuration ⇒ Saved location.

Saved Locations can be added through the eLogii dashboard in Configuration ⇒ Saved location by clicking the +Add new button.

A pop-up window will appear asking you to specify the location details, such as the name of the location, its address, coordinate, and what3words code. It's also possible to find the exact location by pinning it on the map. Based on either the address, the what3words code, or the pin location, eLogii will determine the location's coordinates.

Click OK to save the location.

It's also possible to add comments for the saved locations. These comments are visible to dashboard users and provide additional context for the saved location. Comments can be added by clicking on the green + button. To display them, click on the + next to the location name, and to delete them, click the X next to the comment you wish to remove.

Saved locations can be edited by clicking the blue edit icon within the Actions section. Users can also delete any unnecessary saved locations by clicking the X icon within the Actions section.

To allow Drivers to add saved locations through the eLogii mobile app, first enable this feature in Configuration ⇒ Driver App, under the Saved Locations section. Make sure the Update location option is turned on. Additionally, you can allow Drivers to add comments to the saved locations by enabling the Add comments option.

Once enabled, Drivers can record a saved location directly in the app. The system will automatically capture their precise GPS coordinates at the moment they create the saved location and store it in eLogii.

Once the Driver is at a non-Depot location, they will get the option to perform a Location update within the Driver app. They can do that by tapping the Location update button in the app and adding a name for the location they wish to record.

When Drivers want to finish recording the new location for the Task, they can confirm the action by tapping the Save button.

The location will be added to the Saved Location list in Configuration ⇒ Saved location. If location comments are enabled, the Driver who created the saved location will be listed, as well as the timestamp of when the comment was added.

The most common use case for this feature is if the location the Drivers need to be at is not precise enough, and requires them to locate it precisely and report back on where the location actually is. The čpcation can later be reused when either saving customer locations in eLogii (by utilizing the captured coordinates), or when you're creating a Task from scratch by selecting the Saved option when specifying the Pickup/Delivery location. and choosing which saved location you'd like to use.
