Currently, Drivers and Agents can create Task Items directly from the Driver App through the Code input feature, adding each individual item one by one, or by using assets.

Code input allows the Driver to scan an item's barcode using the eLogii app, which will create a new item and automatically link it to the Task they are currently working on.

To ensure that this option works seamlessly for you, please do the following:

To enable Code input, navigate to Configuration ⇒ Task Actions (POD). Under Task actions (or Pickup Actions if your Drivers need to create Items as a part of the Task pickup), select the Barcode input option from the dropdown menu. Once you do this, the option to Create item for code needs to be enabled. Click Save to apply changes.

Please note that this change will not affect any Tasks created before this action - they will retain their original POD actions. Only tasks imported after the Code snippet action was added will have it as part of their Task actions.

Once the Driver gets to the Proof of Delivery portion of their Task workflow, the Code input option will appear, and they need to select that option.

Once they do this, their phone camera will open in-app and they will be able to scan the item barcode.

Once the code has been scanned successfully, it will appear on the screen, and the Driver needs to confirm the action by tapping Save.

After a few seconds, the scanned item will appear within the Task. The Item name will contain the barcode that was scanned, so Drivers will know which item it is.

Drivers can scan and add multiple items to a Task by tapping the Code input button each time they want to add a new item and repeating the process.

After adding all necessary items and capturing any required Proof of Delivery, Drivers can tap the Finish button to confirm and complete the process.

Drivers can manually add items to their assigned Tasks one by one through the eLogii Driver app.

To enable individual item creation, users need to enable the option Allow drivers to add items to tasks that can be found in Configuration ⇒ Driver app.

Additionally, users can also allow drivers to remove items from Tasks by enabling the option Allow drivers to remove items from tasks. This setting applies to all items on the assigned Task, not just the items the Driver has created.

Once the Driver starts a Task and arrives at the destination (either pickup or dropoff location), they will see the option to add an item.

Tapping Add Item takes the user to the item creation section, where all necessary item information can be added. After all the information is added, tap Save to add the item to the Task.

Instead of adding items individually and manually populating their information each time, Drivers can quickly add items to their Tasks by selecting from an existing inventory of predefined assets.

Before using assets, they must be set up in eLogii. To learn how to create assets, please follow this guide.

After creating assets, navigate to Configuration ⇒ Driver app, and enable the options to Allow drivers to add items to tasks and Allow to add items based on assets.

Similar to adding individual Tasks, once the Driver starts a Task and arrives at the destination (either pickup or dropoff location), they will see the option to add an item.

Tapping Add Item takes the user to the item creation section, where Drivers will be able to select which asset they wish to add to their Task. Selecting an asset will automatically populate all the fields that are required for the item.

Drivers can also make adjustments to the populated fields if needed before saving.

Items added using the Code input, individual item creation, and item creation through assets are located in the same place as regular items: under Tasks ⇒ Task Profile ⇒ Items.

For code input items, these items will include both the eLogii-generated UIDs and the scanned codes used during their creation. The Task History section will display the code input action that created the items.

For items created individually or through assets, they will have Action: Tasks.itemsCreateOrUpdateMany attributed to them. Users will also be able to see which Driver performed this action.
