eLogii allows users to plan Tasks to be executed within a specified date range. By doing this, the system can schedule each task for the day when it is most optimal to be handled, taking into account all the constraints set (schedules, capacities, time windows, etc.), as well as historical and current traffic data information.
Date ranges can be added when creating a task manually, via CSV, or by importing tasks through the API.
For manual task addition, simply select the days of the week you would like the Task to be considered for, as illustrated in the screenshot, and proceed with filling in any additional relevant Task data and creating the Task.
Date Range Tasks and Multiday Routes
Date-range Tasks are essential when working with multiday routes. While a Task with a date range doesn’t necessarily take several days to finish, every multiday route Task must include a date range. This ensures eLogii knows not only when the Task can start but also when it’s expected to end, allowing the system to optimize the Task and display it accurately on the map. For example, if you know that it would take a Driver 2 days to complete the Task (i.e., arrive at the Task's location, complete it, and head back), you would set the date range to two days.
Allowed Week Days in Date Range Tasks
Users can determine which days of the week can be considered for the Task's execution. For example, if you set a 2-week date range, but the Task can only be done on either Mondays or Wednesdays, you can simply check those two days, and the task will be optimized for either of these two days within the span of 2 weeks.
To add a date range for CSV import, simply populate the columns under dateRangeStartDate and dateRangeEndDate with the start and end dates of the desired date range. You can follow this CSV import guide to learn how to add the allowed weekdays.
