Task Import Options appear as the first and third steps of the import process.
Various options can be toggled on or off for each import. The data processing options that can be found here are the following:
Automatically convert date format - Instead of changing the date format in the file to YYYYMMDD each time you want to upload Tasks, you can specify the date format from the file and have eLogii automatically convert it to a readable format.
Before importing, change past and non-existent dates in the CSV. - In case you want to upload Tasks with past dates, you can convert the date on the spot by clicking on the date picker and choosing a new date.
When updating past start dates, maintain the date range to the end date. Allowing this will keep the original end date for the Task.
Automatically set date range interval to X days - Allows users to add a date range to all the Tasks included in the import file that spans over a determined number of days.
Import Tasks at the same location as one Task with multiple items - eLogii will recognize that Tasks on the same location should be regarded as separate items.
Import Tasks with the same reference as one Task with multiple items - In case the first option wouldn't work for you, as Tasks with the same location don't necessarily mean items, you can use the reference field to achieve this.
File has no header - In case your file has no headers, when this option is enabled, eLogii will allow you to write header names within the import screen, as a comma-separated list of column names. Column names must match the preset mapping names or follow eLogii field naming conventions.
There is also the option to Group Tasks on Import, which allows users to set conditions based on which Tasks meet the conditions will be grouped as items.
In the configuration step of the import process, a different set of options can be found and they can be categorized into the following actions:
Actions to take in case the data you want to import already exists in the system:
Always create new - The existing data will not be overridden with the newly uploaded data.
Block import and show a list of existing
Update existing - Selecting this option will allow users to update existing Tasks based on the matching inputs in the following fields (Task UID - generated by eLogii during Task creation, Reference - User-generated values, or External ID - User-generated values). Specific fields can be updated and they include date, dateRange, meta, tags, customData, dimensions, items, skills, capabilities, teams, state, location, and pickup location. Please note that other fields will be ignored on update.
Ignore existing and only create new - Existing Tasks (determined based on matching values in the UID, Reference, or External ID fields) will not be imported, and only new ones (Tasks whose ID fields do not match any of the existing) will be imported.
Performance mode when creating new items:
Slowest - Entries are imported one by one (needed if individual 'Created' webhooks/notifications are required)
Fastest - Entries are imported in bulk, without webhooks/notifications
Moderate - Use this option for bulk import, but if not all entries are being imported successfully. It is less performant than Fastest mode, but it will show details about individual import errors.
Unassign existing tasks (this will trigger route reoptimizations) - On import, all the Tasks that are contained in the import file will be unassigned from routes, in case they were optimized before the import. Consequently, the routes that contained those Tasks will be reoptimized.
Add tags to Tasks - This option allows users to add tags in bulk to all Tasks contained in the file.
Users can set the default presets for both of these import steps from Configuration β Task CSV Import. The preset from this section will be applied to each Task import.
