Route reoptimization for Drivers

Allow your Drivers to reoptimize their Tasks from the Driver app.

If this feature is enabled, your Drivers will have the ability to reoptimize their own Routes within the Driver app. This feature is enabled by switching on the toggle for Allow route reoptimization in Configuration โ‡’ Driver App.

After enabling this feature, a Reoptimization button will appear in the Driver app, and the Driver will be able to reoptimize the Route by pressing this button like in the example below:

The Driver may reoptimize their Route as many times as they want, and the end result of reoptimization will be be reflected on the Dashboard in eLogii as well.

In case your Driver is not able to reoptimize their Route from the app, it is most likely because their Route is locked. Drivers cannot check nor see if their Route is locked, so you would need to check this from the Dashboard and unlock the Route if you want your Drivers to reoptimize it from the app.

There are two possible reasons why Reoptimization might have failed:

  1. Manual changes from eLogii Dashboard - The Route might have got locked if any manual changes to Task order were made, or if another Task was added to the route manually from the Dashboard. This is because any manual adjustments to the Route cause automatic Route locking, which in turn disables users from making any further adjustments.

  2. If you use this feature combined with Route reorder, and if the Driver had manually reordered the Route prior to attempting to reoptimize it, this might have caused the reoptimization to fail. Because Route reordering within the app is treated the same way as Route reordering within the eLogii Dashboard, i.e. it is a manual action, the Route got locked consequently after reordering the Route
