Usually, a Depot is a central location from which your Drivers start and end their Routes. A few examples of Depots are your warehouse, a central kitchen, main headquarters, or the home address of a specific Driver.
Currently, Depot is a mandatory configuration option in eLogii and it must be defined before you can start optimizing Routes. However, depots do not need to be used as a part of optimization. In case you don't use depots at all, you can simply add your company address for example. or any other address, and not define Depots as start/end location for your Tasks and Drivers.
To create a depot navigate to Configuration β Depots and click Add.
Input the Depot Address and the Location Name, which is a mandatory field, along with any other information.
Click Save in the top right corner once you have completed your changes.
To add Multiple Depots (Multi-Depot), you can repeat the steps above, or follow our API guide.
Once you have successfully created your Depots, you will be able to associate a Driver to each Depot. Navigate to Drivers and select a specific Driver Profile to edit, and change the Driver Start Location and End Location as required.
In case you have multiple depots, and your Drivers service multiple Depots, regardless of their assigned start/end Depot, you can also configure it within the Driver's profile by checking the box next to the depot you wish to assign to them. This way, you can ensure that they will be assigned to Tasks which originate from the specified Depots.
Click Save to apply settings.
