Tolerances

Allowing Drivers to be early/late to the task location and allowing them to exceed their work schedule

There are 4 types of tolerances you can set up for your Drivers in eLogii, and they are Earliness Tolerance, Lateness Tolerance, and Overtime Tolerance. They allow you to go over the limitations that were set in place and allow for more flexibility in your operations. The values for tolerances are added in minute format, which means if you'd like the overtime, for example, to be for 2 hours, you would need to enter 120 minutes.

Setting up Driver Earliness/Lateness and Overtime Tolerance can be done in Configuration ⇒ Optimization ⇒ Tolerances.

Driver Earliness/ Lateness Tolerance

Setting limits on how early or late drivers can arrive on site provides greater flexibility in how the system evaluates Tasks and can be particularly helpful when unexpected road issues occur, such as heavy traffic from an accident or route changes due to unforeseen circumstances.

For instance, if a Delivery ETA is set for 13:00 and the Driver arrives at 13:05 and completes the Task, then a 10-minute lateness tolerance would mean the Task is still considered on time rather than late.

Driver Earliness/Lateness tolerance can be set globally only, which means that if you set a 10-minute earliness/lateness buffer, it can apply to all available drivers.

Please note that earliness and lateness tolerance do not influence the optimisation results by extending the Task time window.

Early Start Tolerance

This option allows users to have more control over whether they want more flexibility in their Driver/Agent schedules. This means that if an early start tolerance of 30 minutes is set for Drivers, they can start their Routes up to 30 minutes before the specified start time in their schedule. This can be set globally or on an individual Driver level.

Overtime Tolerance

Setting an overtime tolerance provides drivers with more flexibility in their schedules by allowing a defined amount of overtime.

For example, during periods when there is more work than usual, such as busy seasons with higher order volumes, this feature allows additional Tasks to be added to a Driver’s route without needing to modify their planned schedule.

Overtime tolerance can also be configured at the individual Driver level, in which case it will override the general Configuration settings.
