How to plan and optimize on a team level

When a Task is preassigned to a Team, it is possible to optimize and plan routes for specifically that Team. Users can perform single-day, or date-range/ Multiday Route optimizations respectively.

Both the Drivers and the Tasks will show the Team they are assigned to.

To learn how to assign a Team to a Task please refer to this article.

There is also the option of filtering out the Tasks and Drivers that correlate to a specific Team/s or the ones without a Team assigned to them.

When a new User role is created there is the option of assigning a Team to them, which is especially important if the role of the user allows them to only see the entities that belong to that Team. This means that some users can only view/edit certain Teams. Keep in mind that Admins and Managers can see all the Teams, not just the

When performing Team-based optimization for the selected Team (or Teams), the system will automatically filter Tasks and Drivers that belong to the selected Team (or Teams) and perform optimization for them. Any Team that's been excluded from the selection will not be considered for optimization and their Tasks will be Unassigned.

When performing re-optimizations for selected Team (or Teams), only the selected teams will be affected by re-optimization changes.

In case you have multiple Admin users running optimizations for different Teams at different times, we recommend locking their Routes once they finish adjusting Routes. Locking Routes will keep them unaffected if another Admin or Manager runs an optimization, but forgets to select their assigned Team before optimizing. These User roles have full visibility and control over all Teams, regardless of whether they've been assigned to them or not, so we advise being careful.

💡Pro tip - optimize routes without Drivers

If you want to see what the optimized Routes would be without considering where drivers start and end their routes. This is possible, but not directly - you can have placeholder Drivers set up (for example "Placeholder 1", "Placeholder 2" etc.), optimize, and then use the "Reassign to another Driver" option when you know which actual Driver should do that route

Map selection mode

To enter map selection mode navigate to the Task list on the left-hand side of the screen where you can find the map selection odes. You will be able to use the mouse and keyboard keys as per the dark tooltip in the top left of the map for selection.

Please note that the map selection mode is only available when there are Tasks, otherwise it is impossible to enable it. You can draw and select any Task on the map and click Ctrl + Click to confirm the selection.
