If your workflow requires the Driver to arrive at the first Task location as soon as their schedule starts (and wait if necessary, rather than starting later), you can enable this setting under Configuration β Optimization β Additional options and enable the option to Wait at first task instead of starting later.
Click Save once the feature has been enabled.
Additionally, the wait times displayed at the start of the route will be color-coded differently when this feature is enabled. The wait time is colored yellow when this feature is switched on and blue when disabled.
Please note that this option will not remove wait times from the route if they happen; it will move them after the first Task so that the Driver doesn't start later. Wait times are a byproduct of time-related constraints such as service durations and stricter Task execution time windows (both pickup and delivery). The wait times are gaps in the schedule that could not be filled with additional Tasks (due to Task and optimization constraints), as there is (in most cases) not enough time to execute the nearest Task.
The feature is available on both optimization engines.
