Along with the ability to switch between optimization engines, edit Tolerance options, as well as set ETA calculation and Service duration, users can further adjust the optimization behavior through the Additional Options section. They can be found in Configuration β‡’ Optimization β‡’ Additional Options.

The available options are:

  • Return to Depot at end of route - Setting this will prompt all the Drivers to return to their assigned end location Depot at the end of their route. This will be factored into the overall optimization.

  • Include Driver/Vehicle costs in optimization - This feature requires you to have the Driver and Vehicle Cost calculation feature, as a prerequisite, as well as Cost-based Optimization. Enabling this option will tell eLogii whether to consider the provided Driver and Vehicle cost values and determine the efficiency of routes in relation to those costs. For example, 3 cheaper Vehicles might be a more cost-efficient solution than 1 expensive Vehicle.

  • Time windows include service duration - This option should be enabled in case the Driver should arrive to, or fully complete the Task (i.e. also spend 'service duration' time) at the determined location before the end of its time window.

  • Wait at the first task instead of starting later - This option is ideal for cases when the first Task needs to start after the Driver's schedule starts, and when there should be a waiting time at the Task, instead of the Driver starting later than their scheduled starts.

  • Allow active Tasks (en route) to be reoptimized - Enabling this feature allows Tasks that are already En-route to be included in the optimization (and potentially moved to later) if a more efficient solution is produced..

  • Allow return Tasks to be reoptimized - Enabling this option would run an optimization of the route once a new return Task is created.

  • Sort route to reconcile out-of-order execution - If Tasks have been started outside of the original order, enabling this option would sort the route to reconcile and recalculate ETAs.

  • Revert Task to Pickup Completed on reschedule - If a Task has been picked up and after that, it's been rescheduled, enabling this option would tell eLogii not to revert to the Created state (the default state, before any actions have been performed), but instead to keep it in the Pickup Completed state.

  • Do not automatically optimize route on update - Disables automatic route optimization on manual actions such as adding or removing a Task from a route.

  • Do not calculate ETA for routes - Disables route ETAs and paths on map.

    .

  • Force assignment of highest priority Task - Forces the assignment of Tasks with the highest priority (Priority 100). This will remove the Driver /Vehicle /Other Task priority constraints when required to do so.

  • Ignore current time of day when optimizing for today - Normally. If Tasks are optimized on the same day at a later time, all Tasks whose time window is before the current time will not be included in the optimization. Additionally, if there are no time windows defined, there will be no Tasks in the Driver's route before the optimization time, even though the Drivers started their shifts hours before the optimization has been done. For example, if the current time is 2 pm, it would be taken into account when optimizing, with regards to Task time windows and Driver schedules. Enabling this option would mean ignoring the current time and allowing the optimization to run as if it were done on any other day.
