How to bulk-import drivers via CSV file

Bulk-uploading drivers can be done in Drivers β‡’ Import.

There is the option of choosing between uploading a CSV file that has already been created or downloading the template, filling it out and importing it back to the dashboard.

When the template is downloaded, there are a few mandatory columns that need to be filled out so that the import is successful. These columns are the following:

  • First name

  • Username

  • Password

  • Start location

The remaining columns are optional and do not need to be filled out.

Once the spreadsheet has been updated with the required data, click Select CSV file.

A preview of the file will be shown along with any possible errors it has. You can switch between seeing the errors only or downloading a file with the errors.

If there are errors, they need to be fixed before re-importing the data again. If you're using different mapping options for various types of imports, you need to make sure that the correct mapping option has been selected, otherwise eLogii will register errors not because there are necessarily import mistakes, but because the CSV headers were not matched with (mapped) the corresponding items in eLogii.

Assigning Vehicles to Drivers via Import

Assigning Vehicles to Drivers can be done immediately on your initial Driver import by populating the vehicle column in the CSV file with the appropriate Vehicle UID (which you can obtain by exporting a list of Vehicles from eLogii). In this case, you would need to add your Vehicles before you import the Drivers to get their UIDs from eLogii, which you would use to connect the Driver with their Vehicle.

You can also assign Drivers their Vehicles later, or even change the Vehicles they are assigned to via CSV Driver update. The file you are using for CSV update must contain the Driver UID (uid column name in the CSV) and the Vehicle UID (vehicle column name in the CSV), This tells eLogii that this specific Driver needs to be assigned this specific Vehicle.
