This Workflow allows users to mark Tasks as partially completed if certain conditions are met. If a Task is Partially completed, eLogii still regards it as a Completed Task state, however the completion is partial because some components are missing.

The Partially Completed Task Workflow is achievable only if Items are used, because it relies on item delivery i.e. whether all the listed items have been delivered to the end user accordingly.

Whether a Task is considered as partially delivered will depend on 2 factors:

One of the items has been marked as Failed

In case a Task contains 2 or more items, in case one of them is marked as Failed in the Driver app, but the Task as a whole has been marked as Completed instead of Failed, eLogii will regard this as a Partially completed delivery.

Here is how that Task would look in eLogii:

An example of this would be that a customer placed an order for two books, but upon delivery, they discover that one of the books is not the one they ordered The customer informs the Driver of the mistake, and the Driver takes back the incorrect item, marking it as "Failed" in the Driver app Since the other book was correct, the delivery is considered to be a Partially Completed Delivery.

Driver has delivered less items than stated in the Task

In case you have specified an item quantity beforehand, and due to unforeseen circumstances, the Driver could only deliver a set quantity of the item. Because less items have been delivered than disclosed in the Task, this delivery would be considered as Partially completed.

For this, Drivers need to be able to edit the Task Item quantity in the Driver app. This can be enabled in Configuration β‡’ Driver app β‡’ Allow driver to enter quantity. After enabling Drivers to edit the Item quantity, the workflow would look like this:

Here is how that Task would look in eLogii:

The screenshot below shows that P (the number of picked up items) was 10, and D (the number of delivered items) is 5, which means that 5 of those items weren't delivered to the customer. Even though both of the Items have been marked as completed, because less items were delivered, it's recognized as a Partial delivery.

A practical example of this would be a customer ordering 4 garden chairs and 4 kitchen chairs. Upon delivery, it is discovered that one of the kitchen chairs has been damaged in transit and it cannot be delivered to the customer in that condition. The Driver would mark that they were able to deliver 3/4 kitchen chairs and eLogii would consider this Task as partially completed.

Editing the Partially Completed Task in the Driver App

It is possible for Drivers to edit any completed Tasks in the Driver App, though it needs to be enabled in Configuration β‡’ Driver app β‡’ Allow drivers to edit completed Tasks.

This is in case the Driver returns back to thee pickup location and collects what is needed to fully complete the delivery. The Driver would need to edit the Task and specify that either the right item quantity has been delivered, or the right item has been picked up and delivered to the customer.

After updating the item quantities to match the specified number, the Task state will be switched from Partially completed to Completed, because eLogii would consider that all the items have been delivered, making the Task successfully executed.

Editing the Partially Completed Task in eLogii

Item states can be edited and changed directly within eLogii. Navigate to the Task section and click on any Task whose item states you wish to update. Then click on the Items section of the Task and click Edit to get the option to alter Items. Next, click on the blue edit icon next to the item whose state you wish to change and select any of the listed states to apply to the selected item. You can perform this action as many times as you want.

Additionally, as can be seen in the image above, the Item state change will impact the overall Task state. This means that if both items were previously completed successfully, and if the state of either of them is retroactively changed to Failed, that will change the Task state to Partially completed. If one of the item states has retroactively been changed from failed to done, and if all other items have been completed successfully as well, then the Task state will be changed from Partially completed to the regular Completed state.
