Setting up a workflow in case there are any issues with task completion can be adjusted in Configuration ⇒ Issue Options.

Driver can be permitted to contact support/dispatcher in such cases or directly call the pickup/dropoff contact.

If the task contact is not available, further instruction can be added for the driver.

Driver can also mark task failed if the feature is enabled and return to a specified location - whether this is the pickup location, or somewhere else.

Click Save in the top right corner once you have completed your issue workflow.

Please not that the option to "If task is set to failed, create a return to specified location in the same route" does not impact the initial optimization optimization, however it will create a new return task on the assigned driver's route. A Return Task is a brand new Task which contains the same data as the original. The only difference is that the end location of a Return Task is whatever is specified in Task Issue workflow settings. It could be either the pickup location or an entirely custom location. In addition, users can also define Task actions (PODs) that apply to pickup actions, delivery actions, or create custom ones. They can also chose to not include any task actions at all.

This feature is most commonly used to define actions in the case a Task's state is set to Failed. If this option is enabled, for every Failed Task, a return Task is automatically created and that return Task will be delivered to the defined destination as illustrated in the screenshot below. The destination can be either the Task pickup location or a custom location.
